with a group of friends at a
small, crowded restaurant in Manhattan celebrating
my birthday. The waiter brought the cake out—
lit with candles—and began singing "Happy Birthday."
Suddenly, a voice shot out above the waiters.
Everyone in the whole restaurant, literally stopped
their chatter. An Opera Diva's voice filled the room,
trilling and spiraling up and down in the most
breath-taking expression of celebration. I was stunned. Everyone in the restaurant was
stunned. When she concluded, the otherwise-jaded New Yorkers erupted into a huge round
of applause and cheered. I got more well-wishes from complete strangers than I could keep
up with. It's something I will never, ever forget. —Gary Garrison, PhD, NYC
to sing at my partner's 50th birthday party. The Diva serenaded
him with his favorite song and there wasn't a dry eye in the room. I'd book DivaGrams again in a heartbeat. —M. Wallerstein, NYC Singing Telegrams NYC
